Classics Every Book Lover Should Have Read
Updated: Jul 2, 2021
Maybe you find classics life threateningly boring, or maybe you've already read every Jane Austen book there is, either ways there's something in this post for everyone.
Classics are a beautiful way to read something that is considered to be outstanding from its time period. Age old classics are still relatable today, and add to every readers experience.
“A classic is a book that has never finished saying what it has to say.”
Here is a list of some timeless classics, that are a great addition to your bookshelf (and are far from boring, I promise.)
Little Women
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott is a heart warming story about four sisters growing up during the 1850s. Alcott represents both the joys and the struggles of growing up perfectly, taking time to show appreciation for the little things, filled with glorious details that add to the story. Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy learn and grow together as they put their differences aside and mature together as sisters as well as people. They face trials and tribulations through growing up and in married life, figuring out their place in the world and in travels abroad. Each sister adds her own unique perspective to the novel, filled with worldly ambitions and quaint fancies.
Truly such a sweet, homely comfort novel, Little Women is a perfect read for those lovely fall evenings, with a soft blanket and a hot cup of tea.
Black Beauty
This sweet story told from the point of view from a horse is a lovely fast read. It really puts a fresh perspective into your mind, seeing the simple joys of life through the eyes of an appreciating horse. It also inspires you to get to know horses better, I mean I took up horse riding after reading this book!
Black Beauty demonstrates just how hard life can get for everyone- even horses. Hardships are a part of everybody's life, but so are good things. After all if there were no downs, there would be no ups.
A sweet must read which makes you picture sitting in a wildflower meadow sipping sweet tea in the summer.
